Katie Ford | Metal Sculptor & Environmental Artist
Katie Ford is an award-winning metal sculptor and environmental conservationist based
on Salt Spring Island. Growing up as the daughter of a whale biologist, Ford
experienced regular, close encounters with the marine wildlife of the West Coast,
inspiring her deep commitment to environmental preservation.
In her studio, Ford explores the raw tension between industry and nature. Each
sculpture reflects the fragility and resilience of the natural world, shaped by human
impact. By transforming post-industrial scrap and reclaimed materials with fire and
hammer, she creates works that highlight humanity’s impact, while offering a sense of
possibility through transformation and renewal.
