Marney-Rose Edge is a Vancouver based artist who paints fragility and finding the beauty with an air of romance. It is her true mastery that make her paintings come alive. Although Edge is well known for her watercolours, oils and charcoal have become an important part of her creative process.
In 2024, she was selected to join the prestigious artist residency in France at Chateau Orquevaux for 2 weeks. Marney-Rose has appeared on the cover of International Artist Magazine, with a 10-page feature article. Her work has been featured in the highly acclaimed series of Splash books, the Best of Watercolour and Acrylic works, The Best of Acrylics, as well as receiving many other awards. In 2020, she was featured on Stella’s Studio, a television show out of Toronto.
She is a Signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, serving on the Board of Directors for a number of years. Edge is an Elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour.

ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is anchored by the fragility in nature. Expressed through the fleeting colours of a
landscape, the tender beauty of petals and the complex textures from natures architects.
I invite you to explore my expression of a beautiful, fragile world.
Being a master of different mediums, it is my creative expression that dictates my choice. I work
in watercolour, or charcoal or oils. Gently caressing them in many layers, creating depth and
dimension within each painting. My color palette has a base of 12 colours which can vary or be
extended, depending on the subject.
